Volkstanzgruppe Stainz

Holland

From July 14 to July 28, 1991 our group took off again to another great journey abroad. 33 dancers of the group participated.

We took advantage of the stops on our way to the Netherlands by visiting several cities in Germany. Thus we went to the Dome of Regensburg, strolled through the ancient city of Nürnberg und visited Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

We spend our first night in Spessart and then went via Frankfurt and Mainz to Amsterdam. There we explored the city and the surroundings, experienced the cheese market of Edam and saw the world's largest port of transshipment in Rotterdam.

In Brussels we also made a sight-seeing tour which gave us a good impression of the belgian capital.

Enriched with many impressions we went on to Sas van Gent near the belgian border where we participated in the 17th International Folklore Festival.
The group which organised this festival– „De Grutmoole“ – stayed at our places in Austria in June that year.

We were accommodated privately and the reception at the host families was extremely cordial. At the folklore festival also groups from Turkey, Malaysia, Bolivia and Eritrea as well as groups from Belgium and the Netherlands took part. The perfectly organised festival took place from July 20 to July 26 was associated with many performances of every participating group.

The farewell on Saturday, July 27 was difficult for everyone as deep relations between us and our dutch friends have developed.

The return journey led us via Luxembourg to Trier where we spent one night in a youth hostel and thought about the past days by drinking "Moselwein". Sunday evening, after a long bus journey, we arrived safely in our home town Stainz.
